It is excellent! I recommend not listening to the audiobook; I found the narrator's attempt at character voices distracting.

I can't even listen to it while reading, which I do sometimes.

Yeah I’ve seen people recommend to stay away from a few stories in particular. And yeah, pretty wretched person.
I do find it fascinating that he seems to have changed from pro-aristocracy(!) to socialist during the depression.
