Loved the episode! 2 quick ideas: 1) On โtouching grassโ. Not all social media platforms are the same, itโs OK to stop using the most harmful ones! & 2) On the Kairos/Chronos collapse. The collapse is spatiotemporal, distance from events matter. How do humans at/near frontlines of doom scroll?

This is one of the things that keeps me up at night.... The design disciplines (architecture, urban design and specially landscape architecture) already have a longstanding body of work on this... not breaking ground soon though as it is still considered speculative, artsy or even sci-fi.

Long conversation short: NO. Having worked on cities and climate adaptation, I can say ALL of the work encountered is: A) response to modeling of a freak historical condition to understand a future event or B) design for projected conditions out of current knowledge, within budgetary constraints.

Interesting questionโฆ honestly trying to field this question and understand where this โmoreโ is headingโฆ โmoreโ of what exactly? Justice? Beauty? Thinking of something beyond adaptation like an exuberant otherwise unreachable biodiversity?

What if fixing climate doesn't mean doing everything the same way, except with less COโ emissions, but fundamentally changing the way we interact with nature and with other people?
