Mapping the genetic landscape across 14 psychiatric disorders - Nature
Genomic analyses applied to 14 childhood- and adult-onset psychiatric disorders identifies five underlying genomic factors that explain the majority of the genetic variance of the individual disorders...

Twin modelling reveals partly distinct genetic pathways to music enjoyment - Nature Communications
Here, Bignardi et al. report on a study of over 9,000 Swedish twins that indicates the ability to enjoy music is influenced by multiple partly distinct genetic factors.
βWhat an odd thingβ wrote Oliver Sacks βto see an entire species playing with listening to meaningless tonal patterns, preoccupied for much of their time by what they call βmusicβ...β. π¨NEW PAPER! Together with Wuno Akingbuwa (@wonuola.bsky.social) we developed a way to estimate non-linear genetic correlations. It didnt sit well with us that known non-linear relations (e.g. BMI and MDD with a famous U shaped ) are poorly captured in statistical genetics. π§΅

e.g., if you were using mxPath() to specify a path, you'd set free=TRUE and then specify some lbound and ubound values. Of course, you'd need a rationale to constrain the parameter within that range.

I have only used it in OpenMx openmx.ssri.psu.edu/docs/OpenMx/...
e.g., to keep the correlation estimate between -1 and +1, or to keep the variance estimate positive.
But you can restrict any parameter estimate to be within a range (between "ubound" & "lbound")
