Colleagues who work full time all have au pairs, live in family, or full time nanny with many back ups. It’s insane. (TFH we work weird hours, so school/daycare would never cover us anyway, but still!)

Yup! Hubs and I made it *1 month* of both working full time when I came back from mat leave & realized there was just no way. And we have a ton of family support! Just absolutely unmanageable. I went PRN and our lives got a million times better.

When politicians discuss autism, pay attention to who they say they’re helping. You’ll find it’s almost always “families” or “parents of kids with autism,” rather than #autistic people ourselves. Their primary concern is the burden we supposedly impose on others. Once you see it, you can’t unsee it.
