I'm trying to find my way back to the love of drawing after years without it. I love my job but find my personal art discouraging, particularly as I'm now interested in traditional media but haven't much experience with it.
Only one way to fix that! Have some studies of my favourite houseplant.

People hate their own art because it looks like they made it. They think if they get better, it will stop looking like they made it. A better person made it. But there's no level of skill beyond which you stop being you. You hate the most valuable thing about your art.
Thank you Anastasia! I seldom share my art these days as I rarely have anything polished or intentional. Some of my favourite works are just messy sketches, though, so I shared these in the hope that they might be charming to someone. Your reply means a lot.

What makes the painting remarkable is the work on the fur. It's very realistic and finely detailed, as if painted with a brush that only had a few bristles in it.
This fur texture is incredible. I don't know who the artist is, it looks like it was a student of artist Ivan Pokhitonov
