A mockup graph that actually uses the emojis stored inside of my daily journal folder currently. I see a laughing crying emoji on the 11th of february going to a surprised emoji about a week later and the at the tail end of february I have another laughing crying emoji and then a pleased emoji for yesterday. I am using the gruvbox colorscheme and the plot also has a red bottom, yellow midline and green topline to display the range or "goodness" of the emojis.

I'm considering adding a "Mood Index" tab to #Obsitica. It would track daily emojis, charting them from earliest to latest and ranking emotions from best to worst.

While quantifying feelings is subjective, I believe it could still offer valuable insights. Thoughts?

Yeah, I'm not experienced enough nor was I around for that. But I got stuck behind my first computer in 1995 and I recall IRC chats and "Communities".. smaller services than MySpace basically where you got to know people. These communities often organized meetups. Felt more up close and personal.

Been using Linux for 17 years now. Don't really feel home anywhere. I did Ubuntu to 465 different flavor distros to Arch, pivoted away from Arch because too volatile for professional work so I opted for Fedora. Got a SER6 PRO mini PC and Fedoras packages really did not play well.. might do Debian!

They have had talks about allowing ActivityPub integration, effectively making it so that BlueSky-users could interface with Mastodon/Pleroma-users in the future and use BlueSky to sub to them.

I'll be upfront and say that I haven't had good discourse on any social media for the past years. From being chronically online to getting work from LinkedIn and finding my partner on Facebook... I just rarely have good friendly interactions on social media these days. But I like when it happens!

Oh for sure! I am not necessarily AGAINST federated Social media! I think ActivityPub is amazing and cool and I pray for a bright future for it as Protocols ALWAYS outperform Services/Platforms.

Yeah.. I'm still keen on maybe getting my own Pleroma instance up (it's like Mastodon but more free) to microblog on from my own website.. but I am admittedly a really small subset of users. Mastodon can NOT replace Twitter. BlueSky is the closest, technologically speaking, as flawed as it is.

The problem of Federated Social media is that instead of a central authority enforcing moderation, the moderation and retainment of content rests update the "instance holder". This is far more structurally volatile and leads to more neurotic checks, prep and trust... Harming mass communication

You own every piece of your operating system and you can alter anything and it's free and updates are free. Only caveats are some niche printer drivers and triple A games

Have you tried Gremlin Tools? I think they have a specific tool for tone detection!
