As someone selling artistic work through various platforms, I rely on customers being able to freely choose how to pay for the work I offer. Part of that is payment processors being both transparent with their guidelines AND as hands-off as possible when it comes to what people actually pay for. I believe that, as long as everything in the process is legal for all parties involved, a payment processor should not arbitrarily restrict what kind of goods and services can be purchased by their customers. This both causes confusion and hampers business operations in a variety of industries around the world. In the interest of allowing businesses who fully adhere to the law to operate smoothly, and to ensure a good customer experience, I urge you to reverse these policy changes, and in the future refrain from trying to restrict perfectly legal industries and businesses in this manner. Mastercard has a long-standing reputation for reliable service; being this disruptive in the face of a tiny minority with an entirely unreasonable bone to pick simply cannot be in the company's best interest.
