Straying home A film essay with urban animals

You can read the synopsis and find out more about it here: justwondering.io/straying-hom... The film is still in festival circuits, but can be watched freely online! The documentary received a few awards, including one for best script.

"Straying home" is a critical visual essay that interrogates our more-than-human pasts, presents, and futures, and which strays towards a different version of ourselves, our cities, and our lives together.

It's also the first feature-length film I've directed, combining film footage with illustrations to tell a story of coexistence, and more than coexistence, a story I think is yet to be written.

It looks like some of the biggest investors in the anti-trans movement are fossil fuel billionaires who are trying to use trans issues to ensure that Republicans pass policies favorable to their industry.

I keep asking myself this since I adopted Aki & Nuna, two former street dogs, with whom my partner Maria and I, and five cats, share our home. And it's something Eva Meijer and I also navigate in "Straying with street dogs", a new book in which we’ve put our brains and hearts into.

What if we see street dogs not as passive beings, always in need, but as political actors with their own claims to teritory, and their own interests and wishes?
