been very pleased with my 13yo self's fascination with having a custom-domain email. that has served me quite well through the years

when i was 16 i migrated to a free-tier google apps-for-business account that ive been grandfathered into (supposedly) for life

with that one i was able to actually change my email address while keeping the same inbox, setting the old one up as an alias

my original google account still deadnames me :(

fortunately the only place that shows up is the login page and it never quite seems worthwhile to go through the transaction costs of abandoning it entirely just for that
