Being a journalist is sick: I just contacted a pre-eminent jaguar conservationist in Argentine with a question that has been weighing on me for ages and he wrote back right away with an informed answer.

I taught high school social studies. I absolutely taught that part. I really don’t like when people say, “Nobody teaches this.” I taught these things in a very red state to very conservative students. Teachers do our best, my friend. Don’t say “nobody teaches it.” It’s a slap in the face to some.
