Yeah, a producer is always going to exist whether formal or informal. Even an "archaic" plan or system in how you do it (or even the omission of tools) still means production happens.

The lack of using any formal means of tidiness and organization just makes that role harder, it doesn't vanish it.

Yeah, or some way to have a nested feature within or sidebar, quite literally a sidebar, to keep it all tidy.

but I digress, I accept that transactional mentality exists in some forms, I just wish it hadn't. It makes people wary of well intentions when someone just wants to speak to another.

Speaking of this topic, I have started including more traditional digital art workflows in my studies to help me understand the basis of art as whole, which has been surprisingly helpful!

Doesn't help with the software, of course, but it does help with approach to a canvas.

Anyways, I can't say how that worked out for them. Maybe it did. I didn't keep in touch with anyone, and the conversation specifics are "lost" to history.

But in that moment? I reflect on how nice it was to just have that moment, at all.

Anyways-

-I went back to a little circle that me and some other student formed, because we had started a conversation about shit we were into, and others were hanging around and nerding out over stuff.

While he was arguing with another student contesting their grade, and there were two others behind them-

-Anyways, he gave me a C for it, because I "didn't convince him". How, "idealism doesn't de-frame universal rule in conversation".

and I just shrugged, because what do you even say to that? All I know is that shortly after that feedback-

-where it comes from. Why people can think that way. I do think that way of thinking gets in the way of people who really do just want to share in a moment of interaction. Divorced from some grander narrative. Divorced from "taking something".

Perhaps that's idealism, but I do believe in it-

-two humans embraced in the unique gift that being humans provides. Where you an just say/geek out over nonsense, and let that interaction be as it is. A beautiful thing that happened not because something was expected or hoped for, but existing as a state of the human experience. I can understand-

-with me. I am a firm believer in that communication can be divorced from gain, and can be as is, always have been. I do often wonder how much of that belief comes from upbringing, or learned over time. It's just bleak to me to imagine that the "gain" in communication can't just be a meeting of-

-something out of it. While there is truth to that, it always just came off as oddly cynical to me. Like everything from the most mundane "how is the weather" to the more explicit arguing of one's view point, all stem from some kind of focus around gain? It just never sat right-

Musing 🧵 for the day: I sometimes reflect on what it was one of my philosophy professors said, that social interaction is transactional. The assignment was to "prove them wrong". The basis for the argument they made was that dialogue is inherently give and take, and those involved intend to gain-

I use a mixture of paid courses (like from udemy), and a la carte youtube tutorials to help me along when I am at a sticking point.

The mixture of having various teachers at a moments notice help me far more than the content they are using to break through certain things.

Far from perfect tho.

Not a fan. Felt like so much of the conflict was the cast missing QTE's and deliberately proc'ing the fail states.
