I love when tourists want non-tourist spots. Normally, I would recommend going to the spectacular WWI Museum and then have a happy hour sitting at the bar at Pierpont's in Union Station - one of the nicest places in the city. Or the Jazz Museum followed by beers at Vine Street Brewery.
