A Line By Line Analysis Of Trump's Big Anti-Trans Executive Order Trump released over 70 executive orders on Monday. While orders on immigration and climate got a lot of attention, his anti-transgender order could have sweeping impacts as well.

1. Yesterday, Trump released a broad anti-trans executive order that could have extreme impacts on transgender people's lives if implemented.

There has been much discussion of what it actually does.

8. 4(d) is the second REALLY impactful section of the EO. I read it as a federal bathroom ban. Others may read it differently, but I think that this is how this line will be implemented. It will take time to see agencies implement and to root out the specifics of it.

4. Probably the most impactful part of the EO. Directs passports, visas, global entry cards must match sex as defined in the law. Could open the door to revoking identity documents and replacing them with incorrect gender markers for trans people. We saw this in FL, TX. Terrifying portion of the EO.

BREAKING: We’re suing the Trump administration to block the president’s attempt to end birthright citizenship.

An executive order does not have the power to override the Constitution.

Trump now moves to talk about EOs:
- Troops to the southern border
- Alien Enemies Act of 1798 for cities
- Oil Drilling EOs
- End of EV mandate
- Tariffs
- End of "government censorship" (No word on book bans)
- End "social engineering" of race/gender
- End legal recognition of transgender people

None of what you saw today was normal.

These executive orders on banning federally funded entities from recognizing trans people or disallowing them from using the bathroom are not self-executing or immediately enforceable. They require formal rule making at a minimum. They are a scare tactic. Ignore and do not comply in advance.

NBC White House correspondent reporting that legal experts advise those with passports with x markers may be held up upon attempt to use it.

I CANNOT confirm this but it’s certainly notable that it’s being reported.
