AI generated greening of Jefferson street with a tree’d median looking east from 6th St
Jefferson Street looking east from 6th Street as it is today
What if we could really green downtown? If I play with it some more I’d make the south lanes going the other way to restore the 2-way street.

How the Push to Revive 'Ghost Stores' Can Bring Back Hyperlocal Communities
Vacant corner stores reborn as cafes, markets, and shops connect urban neighbors to fresh food and one another.
Some work we started at the UofL Urban Design Studio during the pandemic to map the historic corner store buildings, the cornerstones of our communities, was featured in Planning Magazine.

New lighting is up at the Trager MicroForest. Soon the rest of the 65 trees and pathway will be complete and the ground lighting will really set the space off. Cannot wait to get the space open again!

Existing trees at the Trager MicroForest getting some love today with a little air-knifing to loosen up compacted soils, while a slew of new trees and shrubs get planted. #microforest

Workers plant 27 trees in the new microforest in downtown Louisville with 75+ more on the way.
Excited to see the Trager MicroForest take shape with all of the trees going in. More on the way as we experiment with novel ways to approach urban greening and healthy cities.

During our Society of Urban Perambulators event in NULU while Teddy Abrams was giving a tour of his residence he realized artist Danny Seim who painted a mural on his wall was in the crowd, visiting from Portland OR. Small world, and nice surprise.

I realized when I took this photo that our downtown street trees and pedestrian amenities must really suck if I thought this scene at a suburban shopping mall was worth taking a photo of because it had wide sidewalks, trees, human-scaled lighting and integrated seating.
