The EPA is abandoning its duty to protect our health and is instead protecting industry profits. I talked with @cbsnews.com.web.brid.gy about how Americans will be left footing the bill from poorer health and higher healthcare costs.

Since deaths from particulate matter and ozone are the vast majority of monetized benefits from air pollution regulations, this move will effectively stop most clean air regulations. This is totally unsupported by science, economics, or common sense.

As climate change fuels larger and more frequent wildfires, smoke exposure is worsening conditions like asthma and heart disease far beyond fire-prone regions.

New findings underscore the urgent need to protect public health against this growing threat.

"This is a clear attempt to weaken scientific guardrails that protect the public from disinformation, delay and reckless decision-making. Such a move will make it easier for fossil fuel interests to distort the facts while frontline communities pay the price."
