if it was between hearing a friend scream and get pissed and argue about a game bc its putting them in a horrible headspace or just letting them leave i'd choose the latter frankly. been in enough calls where things get heated bc of a game and it is always fucking miserable.

I don't personally play a lot of multiplayer games and im not explicitly referring to that but if someone said "hey i actually cannot do this right now, my stress tolerance is shit at the moment, and i need to do something else. im sorry." i'd get it bc seeing ppl rage at games fucking sucks.

it is actually incredibly normal to just stop playing a game because it is stressing you out. yelling at a game and raging at it is the unhealthy response and it is actually less problematic to go "y'know what? im out." and bail.

Surf's Up fakes a handheld camera look that is so truly impressive and immersive given the time period of 3D animation. It truly is a marvel to look at and as a lover of cartoons it is shocking that nothing really has attempted that look since. I went in wanting to clown on it.

Part of growing the hell up is realizing that you can like a wide range of things. Some of my favorite movies are Paris is Burning, I'm Thinking of Ending Things, and Mulholland Drive.

I also fucking LOVE every Paddington film, Fantastic Mr Fox, Nightmare Before Christmas, AND Surf's Up.

Both takes are dumb as hell because people with actual taste tend to like a diverse range of works that can include both the former and latter and it isnt unreasonable at all for someone to enjoy the kids movie the most. Neither take engages with anyone's taste seriously. Pure strawmen.
