After beta feedback, does the final draft go to your professional editor?

Speaking as an editor, telling a writer their work is “crap” and to “write what they know” is not feedback, it’s a failure of craft and professionalism.

ND writers writing from ND experience are writing what they know, and ND reader response is valid data, not something to dismiss.

Sounds like you haven't done traditionally publishing.

It cost a lot than more than self publishing, but has it merit too.

At what point of your writing do you use beta readers?

Yay but boo” is so real, but you still finished a whole draft 🤍 How are you feeling about it? Are you planning to dive back into the Sukume next?

You’re allowed to feel bitter, you lost the PhD version of this, and that grief is real.
But also: you finished a full first draft. That’s huge. That’s proof you can do the work even when the system fails you.
Now you’re closer to getting out. And you will.
