How wonderful! You must be proud to have been part of such a great series.
And I'm glad they didn't go with the original title. ๐
Slings & Arrows was so good. Still thinking about Paul Gross' Hamlet in 2000 @stratfest.bsky.social. Sublime. ๐ญ

"European hornets can look scarily similar to the murder hornet. They have a similar striped pattern on their abdomens, but the key difference is that their abdomens are yellow, whereas the murder hornets are more yellow-orange."

07.08.2025 17:57 โ ๐ 30 ๐ 4 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 1Photo of the cover of the novel, Broken Ground, by Jack Hodgins. In the centre is a black and white photo from the Courtenay and District Museum, Vancouver Island. It shows a person holding the reins of two horses that are hitched to a plough. At the top of the cover is a silhouette of running soldiers based on a photo of Canadian troops in France, 1906 by William Ivor Castle.
Returning WWI soldiers, given free land to farm, must deal with a huge forest fire that sweeps through their community. The Toronto Star said Hodgins' evocation of the fire is one of the few scenes in Canadian literature that deserve to be called 'epic'.
