I don't want to get close enough to see this subtle difference.

"European hornets can look scarily similar to the murder hornet. They have a similar striped pattern on their abdomens, but the key difference is that their abdomens are yellow, whereas the murder hornets are more yellow-orange."

Returning WWI soldiers, given free land to farm, must deal with a huge forest fire that sweeps through their community. The Toronto Star said Hodgins' evocation of the fire is one of the few scenes in Canadian literature that deserve to be called 'epic'.
