Unfortunately being blind is not a good quality of life option for a frog since they rely so heavily on their eyesight for things like hunting and jumping. Many vet and eye specialist visits later and there was just no way to reverse this for him :(

Sad day today... one of the White's Tree Frogs that has been boarded with me is crossing the rainbow bridge. He developed lipidosis in his eyes with keratitis and has been in progressive decline for several months now.

No problem! They don't all do this and Flauta didn't the first winter he was with me, but he has every winter since. I turn off lights 2 weeks after his last meal and turn them back on when he's back out. It's very cute actually - he picks a hide and barricades the door with dirt when he goes 🥹

Thank you!!! They are the same morph. Axanthic is a lack of yellow and anery is a lack of red. They're known as axanthic but I think they're actually anery, since wild type halms are sooooo red and that's what is missing here

Little Charlie is finally shedding out. He arrived here 2 weeks ago and was dull then in pre-shed. It doesn't normally take adult skinks this long to shed but the poor fella is underweight and undernourished so it took a bit longer. He's eating like a champ tho so should be fixed up in no time 🥰🦎

Then I'm certain he's actually a Merauke! Irian Jayas can also get that big but other Indonesian subspecies don't ever hit 2ft, and he doesn't look like an IJ to me. Care is the same regardless, and I'm sure he wants me out of his swamp just as much now as before hehehe

The front legs on little Shrek have too big of speckles for a Halmahera and his colours are classic for a Merauke. There are only a handful of people producing Halmaheras in captivity right now and they're all working with anerys as far as I know

I think he's a Merauke! I'm working with Halmaheras and have a few of them. Their colouring is very different. The first pic is of my Merauke, Cannoli. They're very variable in colour but all fairly large. Second pic is Eddie, one of my Halmaheras. They can be yellow or grey but most are red/brown

He's beautiful! Although he looks like a Merauke to me 👀 do you have a top down picture of him? 🙂 These guys get mislabeled all the time!
