I have been getting more compliments on things I'm wearing from Youths who are generally much better-dressed than me (my sunglasses seem to be a particular hit) so I feel like I'm on the right track

lol I'll never be on the cutting edge of fashion or anything, but I'm trying to improve my wardrobe/develop a bit more style, which has been more fun as I've come to think of it as a slower, more thoughtful, long-term process rather than something I have to do all at once.

on the bright side, I got it secondhand on eBay, so it's significantly cheaper than a new one would be, and it's in a color I like slightly better (forest green instead of tan)!

finally bit the bullet and ordered a replacement for a leather jacket that went missing a year or so ago; I'd been hoping it would turn up in the move but alas, it did not.

for me it was him trying to make a utilitarian argument for which college kids should be raped but yea this is also super fucked

Bluesky revealed that they are using an automated image filtering system, ie something that uses AI, and people are losing their shit.

It is made even dumber because people (understandably) have feelings about their art/photos being by AI systems… except this is a public network.

do people really think you can just post any arbitrary image on a large social media website without an entire mountain of automation kicking in to make sure you’re not spamming child pornography or videos of people being stabbed to death because that’s the entire history of social media in sum

fortunately it's been unseasonably warm here (lol on several days I've had to remind myself not to complain because I'm going to miss this in just a few months) so it's not too urgent, but it's getting cooler in nights/mornings and I'll need them soon. extremely annoying.

only thing I can figure is that maybe I accidentally put them in with stuff I donated pre-move? I double-checked those boxes before they got picked up, so I would think I'd've noticed if they were in there, but my brain was mostly stress-fog at that point so it's possible

it was not a box going missing; even in the chaotic last-minute rush boxes when I wasn't keeping great track of what was in each box, they were at least all numbered and all of them arrived.
