German living in UK - still hanging on in there. Have some views…will probably share them frequently.

11.02.2026 12:27 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0As @stephenkb.bsky.social said today, pulling some of the soft-left of the PLP into the fold would be a very good start.
10.02.2026 15:18 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Yup - I have become a big fan of FT reporting in recent years.
10.02.2026 15:09 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I agree with that take.
Of course each actual event was a story and rightly reported.
It was the rather unpleasant salivating from many media outlets in between, that didn’t add to the story, that turned me off.
Yes, quite. It's the biggest scandal of this administration, so far, probably. It's an average Tuesday under Johnson.

Well played by her.
Even if he does join Reform, his coveted Leader of the party/PM in waiting is never going to happen there or anywhere else. Great Karma!
Earlier today driving from Belgium into France, I realised that I left tomorrow’s breakfast eggs in Germany.
So marmite toast it is then….
I’m tired, so tired of seeing this stuff every day.
The only way I will stop being tired, is when we get up and DO something!
Frankly anything will be better than this, even if in the end it doesn’t succeed in changing the outcome.
Just let’s not just sit here and let it happen?
Me too. I was lucky enough to be in Berlin on business during unification week - it was just totally amazing to be ‘living history’. Will never forget.

I’m hugely grateful for having been born when peace was mostly a given, changes in art and music were phenomenal and we were able to afford to enjoy them.
Not sorry.
And here’s the oil Statement. What it was always about.

It has been driving me crazy for years, as in “have I been doing sex wrong“??
I’m really getting on now, but it STILL bothers me!
Friend took me to the Ivors some years ago. Tripped up the stairs on the way out and Bryan Ferry grabbed my arm and stopped me from falling.
I still come over all funny just thinking about it!
That’s the plot twist of White Christmas right there… very apposite!

But let’s call it what it was: It was a clever political stunt.
Well played.
Remember enjoying Friends from College when it came out. Didn’t realise Platonic was the same writing team - now on my watchlist - thank you!

20.12.2025 18:23 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0A really well reasoned thread - even as a Labour member there isn’t much that I disagree with. Worst for me is the immigration stance - horrendous.
I’ll hold my fire a bit - think two years are a reasonable time to give - before considering my membership.
But will do anything to keep Farage out.
And I’d like to know how many of those Clacton voters now have a severe case of ‘buyers regret’.
12.12.2025 19:05 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Really sorry - it must have been very bad for you to take this step.
I can say from experience that it is not worth soldiering on in these circumstances - you will look back on today’s anxiety and know you did the right thing.
Wishing you all the good things for the future.
Now relax into Christmas.
“No Madam, the kitchen hasn’t mistakenly given your husband your chips as well - you just can’t be trusted to stop eating, when you’re full. And no, you’re not getting a discount - it’s the law!”

I’ve never voted Tory in my life (and never likely to), but until very recently, a Tory election win would have been unwelcome, but not life-changingly scary.
Totally different with Reform.
