Seems like good news. AFAICT, Isaacman is opposed to the current dismantling of the agency. It’s going to be a battle of wills between him and Vought, who I strongly suspect is the architect of the ongoing destruction. I know who I’m rooting for.

Does anyone know why the prog rockers moved North from what became Dystopian Theme Park?

Just want to see one (1) news story on how toxic the Republican brand is among average, everyday Northeast urbanites, and how that should be seen as a major crisis for Republicans. Unfortunately I won’t bc this is still a country where cows and empty land get strong political representation

Oh if he gets half the stuff done that he’s promised, that’ll be

A) Impressive in the face of the moneyed opposition
B) A huge win for NYC (and the rest of the country)

Right? I’m glad I’m not the only one who recognizes this!

Really hoping it turns out the Texas GOP wrote their own downfall.

Excactly! Gerrymandering involves reducing margins in each district. With a shift this big, the kind of fuckyou gerrymander they did in Texas could conceivably turn into a big win for the other side.

Paul Simon in an elevator and it’s playing Muzak versions of all his songs, and then it gets stuck and Jon Lovitz appears as the devil because he’s actually in hell.

Or something like that; memory is a strange thing.

I feel like this has to be a workers' rights issue. It's annoying to me but not overwhelming. People in retail etc who have to hear Christmas music all day for two months should be legally allowed to do murders

There’s times I wouldn’t mind a B string, but that extra high one is just showing off. Leave something for the guitarist to do, for heaven’s sake.

I am reminded, because I am an old, of Tom Lehrer’s joke from the late 60s: β€œI think I have the right to gloat over people from other states because Massachusetts is the only state with THREE Senators."

Van Hollen will absolutely join that coalition. He sent an email to constituents last week that provided links to assistance for people needing help, and didn’t have a single fundraising request for himself!

Today I’m voting for school board. Keep the local MAGA out. Keep the ABA teacher with no real information about her out too (IYKYK).

Your local election for boards and judges and funding and so forth really do matter. Go vote!

What I Got Right About The Iraq War On the 20th anniversary of the U.S. invasion of Iraq, it’s important for us as a nation to reflect on that conflict and its consequences. As the vice president of the United States in 2003, I was one ...

It's one of the things I think folks struggle with is that you're not actually nostalgic for an era of factory work, you're nostalgic for an era of union jobs, massive-scale construction of affordable housing, and mass immigration

the party now cared more about climate change and various academic fixations than cheap energy and good-paying jobs.

This right here, this exact sentence, is THE problem in American political journalism.

The IRA *was* cheap energy and good jobs! That was the whole bill! Democrats did precisely what political pundits are telling them to do and the pundits just ignore it.
