That and Sideshow Bob’s β€œuh-uh-uh-uh-uhhh” are what I use most.

Just tall enough for a Feegle!

I bet if you left your unshod rover and a sixpence there at night, in the morning the sixpence would be gone and you’d never see your rover again either.

Look like him or hate him, he's very obviously seeking the Republican nomination in 2028 and given his commitment to Republican issues he's probably the frontrunner, so you have to ask yourselfβ€”if he gets it, will you vote for him or not?

My god has there ever been a sharper and easier choice than "hang out with Trump at the WH" and "hang out with Flavor Flav in Las Vegas"

Can't fuckin' believe I'm doing this but here goes: Twitter is a mind prison, a true jail of career advancement. I stopped posting on there and within months I became the CEO of The Onion and I'm not kidding. Went back on last year, felt worse, then left again.

Exhaust? Timing belts? Spark plugs? Air filters? Ain’t got none! Hardly use any brakes even.

Okay, one air filter, for the cabin. I can change that myself for 15 bucks ever couple years.

Well given what traditional energy companies have done to protect themselves from downside risk (e.g., consider how abandoned oil wells and coal mines are handled), that consideration only adds to my worry.

And… but… I mean… If you have a loan, it’s not even the future! Your total monthly cost is lower! All you have to do is add the fuel cost to the loan payment.

Your point stands. 😒

β€œGreat Man” theories of history may have been wrong but β€œThat F*ing Guy” theory looks increasingly plausible.

I hear the directors of Genetic Control
Have been buying up the properties
That've recently been sold.
Taking risks oh so bold.
They said now that people will be shorter in height,
They can fit twice as many in the same building site.
They said it's alright.

I’ve been all-electric since 2020, and just downgraded my range in exchange for being close enough to a camper van for my upcoming road-tripping needs. Went from β€œ330 miles” (yeah sure Elon, we know you mean 300) to β€œ234 miles” which is actually true. And that’s plenty.

Make no mistake: It is a very short step from "It would be cheaper and easier if we don't provide medical care for the people in our concentration camps" to "It would be cheaper and easier if we just killed the people in our concentration camps."

I've long argued it doesn't matter if you think #nuclear power is safe or dangerous, a proliferation risk or not, or if we can somehow solve the long-term radioactive waste problem. It's simply too expensive. Massively too expensive. The future is solar, wind, geothermal, and batteries/storage.

Today is the first day of Ramadan, the first day of Adar, Lunar New Year and Mardi Gras.

This means that for one reason or another, the majority of humans on the planet have a reason to eat fried food, and that is beautiful.

Though it can go too far. When the villains have had to grow through the years from threatening a country to a planet, to a race, then the Federation, the galaxy, the universe, and the existence of time itself, I’ve lost interest. By that point I’m only there for the fanservice.

Fungal Misadventure: a short story in the form of a Bluesky thread...

"Have you ever wondered?" he asked, as they picked mushrooms in the forest near her house. "How many people died from fungal misadventure during prehistory before we found out which of these were safe to eat?"

this proved so popular that it is now the only business model in the US.
