Also, if folks wanna track down that issue with Kitty, Scott & Logan, its Wolverine: First Class #12. Its set just after UXM #150, and they are on 'Octopus-heim'/Magneto's island lair! Its one of my favorites in a fantastic run. All of those First Class series are a blast, tbh!

As a diehard "Rachel is trans and Cable should be too" truther, I obviously loved Josie's take! Metaphors, allusions and Body Shoppe visits aside, there's a moment in Excalibur v1 where she talks about never being able to find alternate versions of "Rachel Summers" in any timeline, but not Nathans!

The logo for the SubteXtMen podcast. It features the words “Subtext Men” in classic red and blue comics font on top an archaic looking speech bubble. The words “a podcast” are in white below the speech bubble. The speech bubble extends from a red and blue book in classic comics style. The background is green with blue speckles ala old school comics coloring.

Loved the various takes on the U-Men, although I predominantly read them as metaphors for cultural appropriation by white people, extending into the Rachel Dolezal/transracial stuff! I also never connected the “needing to breathe clean air” with the fact that they’re all on immunosuppressants
