What researchers have discovered about maternal, infant health under Texas' abortion laws In the more than four years since the state of Texas significantly restricted access to abortion, medical researchers have been studying the health effects of that policy change.

A growing body of research indicates that Texas's restrictive abortion bans have negatively impacted the health and lives of Texas women and babies in multiple ways. Across the board, pregnancy outcomes and complications have worsened.

On delayed application review, the NIH grant terminations lawsuit appears to be headed for a settlement.

Both plaintiffs and defendants have submitted a joint document outlining their agreement. Judge Young must sign off on it before it takes effect.

Here's what it says and what all this means 🧡

I don't know exactly how the NIH works in terms of deciding/allocating funding. But I do know A LOT about how NSERC works in Canada. I expect there are similarities.

If this happened here πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦ academic science would be in chaos.

Expect more of this in more πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ research sectors. πŸ§ͺ
