โStrengthen Enforcement of Platform Content Regulations during Elections.
โDesignate Islamophobic Networks as Dangerous Organisations and Individuals (DOIs).
โEnhance Transparency in Hate Speech Moderations.
โTo the Government of India: Reservation under Article 19 (2)
Our findings show a clear pattern: Metaโs algorithms amplify hate, silence minorities, and enable exclusion. "Meta's platforms have consistently been an instrument for legitimizing the disenfranchisement of Muslim in India," said @ritumbra.bsky.social , Executive Director of DAHRD.

โ The BJPโs official Facebook page shared posts portraying Muslims as โinfiltratorsโ who should be removed from India.
โ Metaโs sustained failure to enforce hate-speech policies continues even in India, its largest market with over 500M users.
What we observed:
โPosts depicting Muslims as โrats,โ โdogs,โ and โinfiltratorsโ remained online, despite violating Metaโs own Community Standards.
โ Pages repeatedly reported for hate speech continued operating freely, spreading dehumanising propaganda targeting Muslims.
โOver 4 months, we monitored 211 Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) social media accounts and affiliated #Hindutva networks. What we found was alarming: a systematic spread of #anti-Muslim hate, much of it unchecked by #Meta.

๐ India remains one of the most dangerous countries in the world for media workers. According to the 2025 World Press Freedom Index by Reporters Without Borders, India ranks 151st globally, with two to three journalists killed every year because of their work.

โOn the 2nd of November, the International Day to End Impunity for Crimes Against Journalists, we stood in solidarity with journalists everywhere and we called on governments around the world to fulfil their duty to protect those who risk their safety to report the truth.
