Trumpโs siege of science: how the first 30 days unfolded and whatโs next
The breakneck pace and devastating impact of the administrationโs policy changes has shocked researchers.
It matters that scientists speak out against what is being done to US science.
Staying silent is neither "objective" nor "staying out of politics".
Silence now *is* political - it supports the status quo, says "nothing to worry about".
We need to sound the alarm.

2024: record-breaking watershed year for global climate
2024 was the warmest year on record globally and the first year that was likely more than 1.5ยฐC above pre-industrial levels: a stark reminder global temperatures are continuing to rise.
2024 has recorded the highest temperature in any year since 1850 ๐ก๐
This is the 11th year in succession that has equalled or exceeded 1.0ยฐC above the pre-industrial average period
A number of centres released their estimates today:

What comes to mind when you hear "climate change adaptation"? โ๏ธ Many think of softened blows from hazards. But when I asked MERL experts on urban nature-based solutions during my PhD, their unexpected answers reshaped my perspective. (doi.org/10.1007/s132...)

Scientists drill nearly 2 miles down to pull 1.2 million-year-old ice core from Antarctic
Analysis of the ancient ice is expected to show how Earthโs atmosphere andย climateย have evolved.
This will get a bit lost in the shuffle of everything, but glaciologists in Antarctica have finally drilled a continuous ice core stretching past 1 million years. Congrats to the Beyond EPICA team! Can't wait to see the results.
