"When you use a passkey to sign in to your Google Account, it proves to Google that you have access to your device and are able to unlock it"
This probably needs to evolve to supporting different individuals unlocking the same device like in a family. Like the idea though!

Any thought put into having post links be public? Would help in sharing interesting discussions off the site vs needing to share screenshots. non-auth'd traffic can be heavily rate-limited

Algorithmic choice
Your attention is an invaluable resource. We want a future where you control what you see on social media.
"Our UX design allows users to swipe between favorite algorithms or view a multi-algorithm feed."
Hm maybe the app store analogy works. I'd figure the selection tho is moderated & violating communities would reside in new apps

If the bluesky lets us plug in these third-party algorithms then on the platform that analogy could hold. But I think they'll be completely different applications entirely

yea from my understanding this is functionally Twitter but designed with an open underlying operating model.
like to compete with bluesky you wouldn't have to recreate the entire platform. The data layer that feeds into bluesky is open. yet to see how this actually plays out in practice

Invites need to stem from people in those communities vs beta program around techies. Itβs the worst way to kick off a platform

yea this is facts. Just getting journalists on here to call out / chat with @jack.bsky.social made the timeline interesting to me for the first time
Need more of this to circle out to other communities

How do we get organic communities like NBA Twitter or Black Twitter on here. It's game over when that happens

some sort of signal <> at protocol integration would be gnarly

I don't consider bluesky a crypto nor "web3" company. Highly doubt it
