I'm disturbed by the idea that getting into the minutia of the one individual that the administration said they sent to the death camp by mistake has got in the way of the needed fight about how ALL the people sent to El Salvador have suffered the same lack of due process, the same dehumanization.

True smarts is really just getting to know how dumb you are.

Suggesting that these LLMs are going to become a proper AI in short order is like living in the 50s looking at the new nuclear power plants and thinking we're just a couple months from everyone having their own personal fusion reactor in the back yard.

Pretty sick of hearing about AI.

We have LLMs that are nothing more than endless bullshit generators. You could tap Henry Frankfurt spinning in his grave to produce enough energy for the world several times over.

Yes, tariffs are a tax, but people don't mention often enough that they are a regressive tax. Taxes on consumer goods tax the poor at a higher rate, as basic necessities are a much larger part of their spending.

If food goes up by 20%, it is a tax on the poor. Rich people won't even notice.

If you accept that non-citizens have no right to due process, you are accepting that citizens have no right to due process. All the government has to do is claim that you are not a citizen; without due process you have no chance to prove the contrary.
