Take away the event and you eliminate a lot of really bad stuff that happened after though. Declaring yourself pro Big Bang with no reservations is basically saying you think it’s good the Crocodile Hunter got killed

When I was a kid, the only things I was told I couldn't watch were WWF and You Can't Do That on Television. Naturally I watched both constantly.

Hulk Hogan was a big reason I started watching. I immediately realized he was the least interesting of all the wrestlers, but, hey, thanks for the intro?

Correct take. I'll go a step beyond that. They are fun in person if you're in the lower deck infield. Up close it's a GREAT experience. The farther away from them you are, the more it becomes just a confusing baseball game.

I don't think Hogan was very complicated. And the Bananas are fun.

Injuries in sports can be so cruel. A few years ago Trout was talked about as possibly the most talented baseball player ever with people flatly assuming he’d finish with Mays/Aaron-like numbers.

Now he’s 33 and MLB Network is excited he has almost as many homers as Andres Galarraga.

What Is β€˜Aura Farming’? This Tween Will Show You.

Spent some time trying to learn more about the aura farming kid. He’s 11, his nickname is Dika, he’s been a Tukang Tari (boat dancer) since he was 9 and his province made him a tourism ambassador this week.

And he is cooler than all of us. www.nytimes.com/2025/07/10/s...

Convincing Talia Shire that ditching the SATs to qualify for a BMX race was a good idea was controversial, but he also landed Aunt Becky by BMXing outside a dance so maybe Cru just knows things the rest of us don’t know

Last week Wes and I watched Gleaming the Cube. Today we’re watching Rad. He needed new shoes and he picked out Vans. Having kids is the best.

There are a million more great stories from him. At the NYT and elsewhere. And his books are superb. If you ever want to love baseball even more, just google his name and start reading.

A story on Yankees hair and beards. He got Mattingly and Damon to talk. Because of course he did. www.nytimes.com/2023/12/18/s...

Scott came to me as a freelancer with a recommendation from @tylerkepner.bsky.social and a promise that he was as good as they come.

For three glorious years he delivered again and again. Stories that were wonderfully written and full of details you wouldn’t get anywhere else.

My wife bought me two giant canned cheeses from Washington State U (IYKYK) for Father’s Day.

She hid them in our refrigerator.

For the last three weeks.

I quite literally never saw them.

Americorps canceled the President’s Volunteer Service Awards and my daughter spent the weekend volunteering anyway.

My son is done with his service for his next rank in scouts but spent the whole weekend on other peoples’ service projects.

It’s nice to be associated with these tiny good humans.
