29.06.2025 04:31 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Just listed some new ceramics! These are the first pieces Iβve been able to put out after 4 months of chronic illness. I am so freakin proud
03.05.2025 22:56 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I conducted a survey about the often-predatory practice of asking consigning artists to provide unpaid labor to stores in exchange for waived consignment fees. Check it out here: bus20ceramics.com/blogs/franki...
18.04.2025 22:19 β π 3 π 2 π¬ 0 π 0Making art is not about creating a perfect, sellable result. Itβs not even about ending up with a finished product. Itβs about the practice. Its greatest rewards are internal.
05.04.2025 18:48 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Do you ever film a video and wonder if your entire social security number is somewhere in the background and youβre not gonna notice but itβll be the first comment on the video and youβll be so embarrassed you perish on the spot
03.04.2025 18:31 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0AI only makes art accessible to those who think art must meet ableist standards of precision on a capitalist timeframe.
βIsnβt it better because it happens instantly? Saving so much time and work?β
No, you fool. You have missed the point. The practice is the destination.
AI only makes art accessible if you refuse to consider incomplete projects art.
AI only makes art accessible if you consider art to be the product and not the journey.
AI only makes art accessible if art is a trivial commodity and not a tradition of human thought and expression.
People will go to insane lengths to try to justify the use of AI for creating art. Most recently Iβve seen content arguing that it makes art accessible. As a disabled artist I HEAVILY disagree.
AI only makes art accessible if you think work made in the style of a disabled artist isnβt art

This weekβs blog post goes over my personal journey redirecting some of my anxious creative energy into writing my first romance novel! Check it out here: bus20ceramics.com/blogs/franki...
06.03.2025 21:36 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Worries are imagined realities, and creative people by nature can imagine and create worlds which donβt exist. It stands to reason then that creative people are uniquely predisposed to anxietyβand that creation in the right form could help alleviate it.
06.03.2025 21:36 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Me: I love ceramics, pottery is amazing, Iβm never going to take ceramics for granted again
Ceramics:
Back making pottery slowly but surely after my #fnd diagnosis! Thank goodness for my wet box which kept all my pots leather hard for months during this flare. Literally cried tears of joy seeing these mugs. Iβll never take my abilities for granted again

20.02.2025 01:38 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I wrote a free beginnerβs guide to selling at craft markets! It goes over market red flags to watch out for, financials, what you need to get started, what makes a good market, and more. Check it out on my blog β€οΈ bus20ceramics.com/blogs/franki...

13.02.2025 03:30 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0When solo makers try to keep up with customer standards of speed and price set by large, exploitative factories, they break their minds and bodies in the processβand the joy bleeds out from their creative practice. Read more on my blog at bus20ceramics.com 5/5
12.02.2025 22:19 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0When youβve got companies driving up the cost of groceries just because the can and billionaires sitting on a dragonβs hoard of cash that canβt circulate the economy, weβre being priced out of our homes, let alone our ability to buy things that bring us joy 4/5
12.02.2025 22:19 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The handmade market is being flooded by SHEIN and Temu resellers. Craft markets accept them as vendors, and they mark up $0.99/unit items to $20 or $30βenough to undercut handmade artists on price and drive us out. They scam customers into thinking theyβre shopping small and local in the process 3/5
12.02.2025 22:19 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0With all the dupes of handmade art produced by #fastfashion and international wholesaling companies, customers expect handmade work to barely break even on materials. My community faces accusations of greed and selfishness for charging enough to make as little as $3.00/hr 2/5
12.02.2025 22:19 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0There are a lot of reasons why #handmadeart careers are dying. Between people expecting sweatshop pricing, SHEIN and Temu resellers infiltrating the handmade market, and stagnant wages for customers, itβs harder to make it as a handmade artistβat least without breaking your mind and body 1/5
