Rocket, my animatronic OC, with cowboy-like clothes. He's wearing a dark brown cowboy hat with a low brim, black button up shirt with a purple stripe around the edge of the collar and two purple lightning bolts, white gloves, light blue cuffed jeans with a black leather belt and small dark brown boots. He still has his usual cosmetics, the warm beige latex mask, black hair, thick black eyebrows, darker plastic eyelids with long eyelashes and plastic cartoony eyes with cameras for pupils. He's walking somewhere. No idea where. Your guess is as good as mine.

Okay, so it turns out I never shared Rocket's cowboy look here. Well, now that I've revisited that design, ya'll get to enjoy it. Out of the main trio, he's the one that has the most variety in terms of clothes. He's just the type of guy to try different styles.

The aforementioned “new” Cortex design. Even if it’s not fully colored, I’m still beyond happy to see some full body artwork. I am willing to bet that this exactly what his actual Colossal Pictures design looks like, since the style is extremely close.

Captain Cortex, the main character from the Colossal Pictures version of Cranium Command. He is a short(?) brain pilot with pale peach skin, round face with big cheeks, long neck and a bottom heavy build. He wears a blue cap, red orange pilot jumpsuit, white undershirt, white gloves and black boots. He also has a black and silver headset with two long antennas. He is drawn standing up with a happy expression and the art style is similar to that of older cartoons with flat art styles like Roger Ramjet.

Some recent Captain Cortex fanart I’ve made, the official design of course, not my headcanon version. Now, why am I once again revamping the way I draw Cortex’s official design? Because we now have a full body drawing of him, the more Colossal Pictures style design, to be specific.

2D artwork of my sona, an anthropomorphic rat with tan fur, short sark brown curly hair, pink ears, toes and tail, and a black turtleneck sweater. In terms of facial proportions, he has a large head with big ears, small dot eyes towards the bottom and a big button nose. As for the body, it's small and bottom heavy, kinda like Mickey Mouse, but with slightly shorter arms with tiny hands and long legs with big feet. I drew him in a happy jumping pose.

New month, new design for my mall rat sona. I've been meaning to do so for a while but kept getting distracted. Not much has changed apart from the color scheme, a slightly different way of stylizing the hair, overall art improvement and the addition of small whiskers.

Me every day

A nighttime scene of streetlamp in the middle of nowhere near a canyon. Technically speaking, it's underwater, so the colors are mostly blue, with some green hues around the light. Since this takes place in my Cranium Command headcanon, I added Buzzy and Captain Cortex, who are sort of lost. Buzzy's visibly nervous, while Cortex is still confident that a bus might stop by soon.

I felt like drawing a scene with a streetlamp in the middle of nowhere. I also felt like making something with a darker color palette with my Cranium Command headcanon, so here's a nighttime scene that takes place within that world.

Since the piece takes place within the world of "Soul in The Machine", I added Rocket and Vinyl to it, as sort of spectators to the oncoming storm. Rocket's somewhat curious of the thing, though that's interrupted by Vinyl's anxious reaction to it.

Another landscape practice mixed with some cloud practice. Idk, I just felt like drawing a shelf cloud. I added Rocket and Vinyl in it, since it's a scene that takes place in their world.

My headcanon version of Buzzy from Cranium Command talking to someone offscreen while sitting on a rock in a field full of pink grass and fuchsia coral-like trees. I like to imagine the world of Cranium Commandos as being submerged in cerebrospinal fluid and similar to many underwater environments and that the Cranium Command's various bases are located in more natural areas, so there's a lot of fields where brain pilots can just relax during their time off.

Surprisingly, I never shared the original version of this piece here. I did share one of Buzzy and Captain Cortex in a similar environment though. Nothing much to say here. It's just a chill scene with Buzzy in it.

Another one of my cetacean OCs, Koharu an adult female false killer whale. She has a long slender body with an oval shaped head, dark grey coloration with a darker dorsal cape and light grey underside markings, and blueish grey eyes. Since she's just a normal whale, she's not as expressive as Seymour, though she's quite outgoing in terms of personality.

I went ahead and drew Koharu again. Pseudorcas are still pretty challenging to draw, but that won't stop me from drawing my OCs.

An illustration of an adult male Norwegian killer whale. These animals are your "stereotypical" killer whale, mostly black and white in color with a bright grey saddlepatch behind their dorsal fin. Like other North Atlantic orcas, they tend to be stubbier with slightly rounded dorsal fins, pectoral flippers and tail flukes. As mentioned before, this individual is an adult male, so he has massive pectoral flippers, a tall dorsal fin and curled tail flukes. This particular piece has a background with deep blue water, and it's made to look as if the whale is popping out of it.

Trying something else with my cetacean illustrations. I've done illustrations like this before, but this time I wanted to see just how realistic I can go in terms of lighting and shading with on airbrushes. I drew a Norwegian killer whale, because yes.

A sketch of stereotypical grey alien next to my alien OC, Pearl. Though she’s a cat-like alien with a similar body type to a penguin, such details may not be seen clearly in certain lighting conditions. That combined with the pop culture image of what an alien would look like often causes people to interpret her and other individuals of her species as something far more humanoid.

A fun piece I did a while ago. Apart from wanting to show the comparison between a typical grey alien and Pearl, I thought it would be cool to show what people think they see when they encounter her, since it often happens at night in low visibility.

Seymour, formerly known as Guillaume, one of my orca OCs. He is an 18-year-old male, so he is bulky with large pectoral flippers, tall dorsal fin and curled flukes, though still not fully developed. He has rounded diamond shaped eye patches and a bright saddle patch with a heart shaped stripe. Additionally, his dorsal fin leans a bit towards the left side. Since he was human, he tends to sit still in a vertical position. Overall, he’s not good at being a whale.

Yet another Seymour drawing. I wasn’t too happy with the previous one, since it didn’t really show his personality. I tend to imagine him as the type of guy who’s still in the mischievous risk taking phase.

Here’s the original version. This was done long before I updated Pearl’s color scheme and design. Also, I reused the background in the new one, but added stuff to make it consistent with my current pieces.

Pearl, one of my alien OCs, from a top down perspective looking up at a light. It is made to look as if it’s a beam of light coming from a spacecraft, when in reality it is coming from a street lamp. The light has a greenish hue.

A remake of a piece I never posted here. It was raining a lot yesterday, so I was in the mood for a night time piece and I had wanted to revisit a painting of Pearl for a long time.

A body diagram, except that instead of being a normal human with organs, the insides consist of various organelles arranged based on their function, so for example, the nucleus is where the brain is.

Here's a bit of a headcanon I actually never shared here. Though cranium commandos are probably just tiny humans in the actual show, I like to think they're just anthropomorphic single celled organisms.

Another illustration of the different types of plants found in the dry forest regions within the setting of “Soul in The Machine”. The first plant is a cat’s claw tree which is a thorny plant with red seed pods. The second is a cactus similar to an Opuntia found here in Puerto Rico, with thin paddle-like branches and yellow flowers. The third is a turk’s head cactus, which has a large barrel-like structure with a “head” that has reddish colored thorns. The last is a light grey agave plant with a tall stem that has golden yellow flowers. Like the previous dry forest plant illustration, it features the three main robot characters for size comparison, showing that the plants aren’t exactly massive.

More plant design work. I wanna draw more landscapes but first I have to draw the plants to know exactly what I’m doing.

A 50s sci-fi poster style render of one of my alien OCs, Spinel looking at someone offscreen. The background is designed to look like a mix between outer space and the sky during twilight hours, using a color scheme that consists of bluish black, wine, teal and light green. She's another alien with a cat-like face and penguin-like body, of the same exact species as Pearl and Jasper, but she lacks the usual markings, with her entire body being a dark purple. Her eyes are also more of a light mint green color. In terms of facial proportions, she has a bigger head with smaller eyes.

Yet another one of Pearl's friends, Spinel. I thought it would be cool if there was one that looked more like a black cat.

Plant designs for my Cranium Command headcanon. While the canon show doesn't reveal what the world looks like outside of the Cranium Command, I thought it would be interesting to explore that. I like to imagine the plant life being coral-like and mostly pink in color, with a few exceptions. In this illustration I've featured four plants. The first is a fuchsia tree with a structure similar to elkhorn coral. The second is a teal bush, that looks a bit like prickly pear cactus but without spines. The third is a pink tree which bears a resemblance to broccoli coral. The last are pink flowers that come from buds that are bubble-like in appearance. Next to these I added Buzzy and Captain Cortex for scale. They are 3ft 1 and 3ft 10 respectively, and the plants aren't exactly very tall, at least not much taller than an average sized adult.

Designing some stuff for my Cranium Command headcanon. Since a lot of it focuses on the lives of the brain pilots, that means I have to design the world around them.

A Caribbean humpack dolphin, a fictional species for my story, "Soul in The Machine". Despite the name, they are not related to real humpback dolphins. They just have a passing resemblance to them, with a slight hump around their dorsal fin. Their coloration is a light grey with a darker dorsal cape and a white underside. These dolphins tend to be 9-12 ft in length, with males being larger than females.

I've drawn this fictional dolphin species multiple times, but finally they have a name. I almost didn't settle with it since they're not related to actual humpback dolphins, but then I remembered that there are cetacean species named after an unrelated one.

A sato wild dog, a fictional species of canine from my story idea “Soul in The Machine”. They somewhat resemble a medium sized stray dog, but better suited for life in the wild. They can come in a variety of coat colors. The one in this illustration has mostly gray color, with bright orange on the face, inner ears and the underside, and cream on the muscle and the feet.

Having a story take place in an alternate universe means I get to have fun making up animals, and here’s one of them from “Soul in The Machine”. We don’t have wild dogs in Puerto Rico, but I thought it would be fun to make up one.

Fun fact: Sato is the term we use for stray dogs.

Two sticker designs of the Buzzy animatronic and Captain Cortex animatronic's faces. Technically they are the same bot, but the different cosmetics make them look drastically different. Buzzy has a green hat, greenish grey and black headset with a microphone and an antenna, mechanical eyebrows, large round glasses, peach colored eyelids that are slightly darker than his skin color and blue irises that are actually a separate piece from the white part of the eyes. Cortex on the other hand has a light blue hat with the Cranium Command logo on it, black and silver headset, thin eyebrows painted on his latex mask, blue eyelids, and simple black pupils that may or may not be painted on the white part of the eyes. The only thing that remains the same are the light peach latex mask and brown hair tufts.

An illustration of 4 types of plants found within the setting of “Soul in The Machine”, specifically those found in dry forests. All of them are based on plants found in Puerto Rico. The first is a small tree based on the species prosopis juliflora, which has an umbrella-like shape and somewhat resembles trees found in the African savanna. The second is a cactus similar pilosocereus royenii, which has long thin branches and a greenish grey coloration. The third is a bush with cream colored puffy flowers and flat brown seed pods. The last one is a tall prickly pear cactus with red flowers. I also added the main characters Vinyl, Rocket and R.J. for size comparison. Because these plants are from dryer areas, they don’t tend to grow very tall, so they’re not exactly ridiculously taller than the tallest character here, R.J. (5ft 9).

Finally, something that isn’t character design. I’ve drawn the plants from the setting in “Soul in The Machine” before, but since I’m trying to change the style, I had to revisit these.
