I would perhaps recommend a little time between the 2nd and 3rd season tho. Even if you just take a break for at least a day or so.

Beautiful color choices as usual. I’m enchanted by your ability to capture so many properties of light. Also, it’s fun to see the effects of the values changing the composition, even though they are all the “same” foundation.

Does anyone have a digital brush (preferably for CSP) that looks like this palette knife technique (1st image)?? I’ve tried adapting brushes I have and ended up with this (2nd image) but it’s unoptimized and not responsive to stylus pressure in the way the palette knife would be.

Can finally post about this now that I’ve announced it. Been learning about new texturing methods, CGI motion tracking, and a bunch of other stuff to bring Minior to life! 💫 Screenshot is from my 2nd test.

OHH we’re talking about that scene!! Yes yes, I loved that. I thought we were talking about the post-game content for a moment. Cool cool 👍

Wanna make sure I’m thinking of the right thing and didn’t miss something (while avoiding spoilers in case I did?) We are talking about the PC version of that, right? Is it different for Switch2?

I haven’t played Ch. 4 yet but I love this game so much as a whole. Here is a sketch; playing with negative space 🔪🗡️

And shoutout to the person who noticed the citations for Small Mario Findings and Toby Fox’s concept art. Hearing an attendee say “Deltarune tomorrow” during Q&A was very affirming. Great questions regarding the Pokémon leaks as well.

Thanks to everyone who came to my lecture about video game preservation at the library yesterday! It was great to hear that everyone in attendance was genuinely interested in this topic. I hope the Slide Docs and further resources are helpful.

Such a wonderful job with the color mixing. Nice balance of saturated and desaturated greens/yellows.

Absolutely! My dad worked at a bunch of different companies; we’ve recently worked with the VGHF to catalog a lot of it. If you’re ever interested in Atari, Mindscape, Midway, Acclaim, NuFX, or Hasbro stuff, that’s fair game too.

Oh cool! My dad was the producer for one of the TMNT games when he was at Konami in the 90s. If you ever want to incorporate design docs or early versions of games into the show, lmk! I know that doesn’t exactly fit the format/style but I figured I’d offer 👍

I’m excited to hear more about this project in the future. The UI looks perfect for that scale.

It’s a fun design for sure! Shoutout to whoever did the rigging on his model too. That squash and stretchability + expressiveness requires a lot of work!

A cartoon sketch of me, disgustedly holding up the melting remains of a rug while a cutely smiling Pokémon Appletun sits on the undamaged half of the rug. Text reads: Got a new rug and he Apple Acid’d it because it had Kantonian Articuno and a Pidgeott and he got scared. My boy can’t tell a real predator from a 2D image 😩

A scribble based on an idea I had. I think if Pokémon were real, my Appletun would not be the smartest #art #pokemonfanart

So cool!! How do you go about selecting palettes for your art? Do you do flats and a blend mode or do you pick colors as is? There’s something about the color saturation in your pieces that I’ve always admired.

By the way, I’ll be part of a presentation at ILA RFN this year. I’m glad for the opportunity to share the wonderful work my colleagues and I have developed over the past few years at the library.
(Also I’m excited about the fun PowerPoint because I love making those)

PSA: library resources!
There's hoopla, too, for audio books. Our local library uses Libby, which also does ebooks.
I just downloaded Kanopy and Mango to try. 🤘

Watching this on repeat. At first, I was trying to watch both the gameplay & the reactions. 2nd time I was trying to comprehend why the game even did that. 3rd time I really got to appreciate the expressive animation. Love the turn to the camera at the end 😂
