Millions of tonnes of toxic sewage sludge spread on UK farmland every year Exclusive: Experts call for stricter regulation as current rules set in 1989 require testing for only a few heavy metals

At @fightingdirty.bsky.social, we sued over this issue, and lost on the grounds that the Environment Agency couldn't be in breach because the government had issued no direction. An absurdity, which means that poisons continue to be spread on farmland every day. ๐Ÿงต

Lab-grown seafood is hitting restaurant menus. Would you eat it? Wildtypeโ€™s cell-cultivated salmon is the first seafood to earn FDA approval, marking a significant milestone for the alternative protein industry.

A salmon made from from cells grown in tanks became the first cell-cultured seafood to receive safety approval from the FDA.

Kann, a Haitian restaurant in Portland, is the first restaurant to offer it to diners.

It's the plant people love to hate... and it's going to be everywhere this summer.

But ragwort is actually a wildlife powerhouse. Read the blog my Knepp's lead ecologist Matt Phelps: https://knepp.co.uk/2025/06/a-big-year-for-ragwort-the-plant-we-love-to-hate/

Quibbling over whether burning waste is better than putting it in landfill

Is like arguing over whether it is better to be poisoned by toxic air or polluted water

The answer is to reduce, re-use, recycle

Thatโ€™s why weโ€™re protesting against this madness of building incinerators

Chalk arable smoothed by endless ploughing is not a great starting point for complex community re-assembly! At Lyscombe in Dorset we'll be scraping off chalk topsoil, creating chalk rubble banks, installing brash piles etc - re-instating microtopography. Can't wait to see how nature responds!
