In BC developers are anxious to get rapid transit lines extended to their sites. Hopefully, developers here also see the advantages BRT will offer.

Land owners and developers in Saskatoon are starting to understand how valuable the new rapid transit system will to their properties. A few are gearing up to take advantage of that by 2027.

Regina City Council denied a small 18-unit apartment on an infill lot partly due to objections from the airport about too much density near the airport. Airports are protected from encroaching development by their own federal zoning bylaws. Seems non-sensical.

Exactly. Infrastructure for safe cycling is the most effective way to encourage more cycling. There is room for this. Attitude and misinformation gets in the way.

The safety issues affecting Saskatoon transit couldn't come at a worse time with new rapid transit system now within two years of being launched. The new BRT Link system will be looking to attract 'choice' riders. Hard to do with these issues.

โBelieve it or not, electric bikes offer more exercise than pedal bikes on average. That might sound strange, but the science is clear.โ
Why e-bikes give more exercise than โacousticโ bikes. (but both are excellent for better cities, and both are a LOT cheaper than cars, especially after tariffs!)

Unfortunately the latest concept plan of the new Polytech Institute in Saskatoon shows a campus which seems to completely ignore the new Bus Rapid Transit system being built right beside them. Lost opportunity.

According to Yardi, Saskatoon and Winnipeg lead the list of cities where rental interest is high. In Saskatoon, rental rates have risen 19% as a result of high demand. Rents in Regina rose 9%. Still both relatively affordable cities.

For those who think climate change isn't real, the forecast for Saskatoon is for rain showers on Thursday. If that happens it will be the second time we've had rain this winter. Just sayin'.

Saskatoon city administration is recommending that e-scooters be allowed as a permanent mobility option. I agree. With sensible rules in place, there is no reason why they shouldn't be.

Another Saskatoon downtown business is set to move out of the downtown, citing vandalism, safety and theft concerns. The solution is to bring more people downtown. More people means more safety. Its also time to bring people back to work (the office) and be social again.
