Yeah, Biden was in a way as bad as Trump.
He talked the talk, but never walked the walk.
It encouraged us to build factories.

Smile and not budge, same as Ukraine/EU has done for 8 months now.

China issued school geography books depicting Outer Manchuria as being part of China about two years ago.
Quite telling I would say.

It would be sunk if they tried using it there.

I agree, but I suspect that is intended for landing in Outer Manchuria.

I agree that it was not ideal, but it was much better than expected.

I will read books and play music, travel to places to really see things that I have missed previously when going there.
And after a few months I will probably go stir-crazy and go and get myself a few board positions to stay sane.

It will be very costly to do so.
The entire place will be water damaged and filled with mould.

Learning to cope is a good thing, and learning to work around it, and to use it to your advantage.
I had to do that with a physical thing for longer than I ever wished for... but got it fixed now.

Meh, I mean't that as Netherlands voting against StjΓ€rt, and not you Iris.

Well, you did vote against StjΓ€rt this time around.

And we are happy about it.

It was like this in Europe for the last two decades, but the war cleared out that cobweb and now people are increasingly talking about the future, and how we can make the present better.
The old is no longer seen as having been better, plague and all.

The world is changing, and to be frank it is changing more our way than the way that the Idiocratic Autocrats wish for.

True, but problem is that China, unlike Russia, can swamp the problem with bodies.
It is not force of arms that is holding China back, it is more politics and economics.
They fear that the economic repercussions will cause political problems at home.

Hence why I look forward to being bored out of my socks in just shy of 4 years.

I hope that the diagnosis is possible to cure.

Tearing down the White House without even having hired an architect was fairly epic as idiocracy goes.

The greater problem moving forward is the US quislings in Europe.
And, the problem is that we can't ban people from having opinions, we can only go after them on tangible evidence, unlike what they do in Russia and the US.

No, we do not remain this dumb.
Problem is that we need to become a superpower to take over control, and that takes a lot of time to achieve, but we are steadily working at it.
Putin's Quislings are now lame ducks.

Mostly that power corrupts, and having power for a long time corrupts totally.
Hence why I want my politicians cycled out after one or two periods in power.

Downside: I sometimes joke that I'm the only one not covered by EU work laws.
Upside: I get to influence things.
Flipside: I'm on my last contract before retiring 😁

Turkey is though a NATO country mostly in name only.
But I agree, even if we shot down a plane nothing would happen, as long as it dumped down inside of EU territory.

21.11.2025 08:28 β€” πŸ‘ 4    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Yeah, and that is the consequence of having a constitution that has passed its best before date.
They truly need to redo it and fix the electorate crapola.

Lack of ethics does though tend to come paired with idiocracy.
But, you do have a point, the current administration is after all taking idiocracy to a new unexpected level.

21.11.2025 08:23 β€” πŸ‘ 7    πŸ” 2    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 0

Indeed.
EU is rapidly learning that it is lonely at the top.
Time to put on the big boy pants and do what is needed.

No work is perfect, so we grumble when there's things we do not like.
But, the average is important, it must be a net positive.
