I literally stopped playing my video game, got up, walked into my office, unlocked my PC, and immediately turned this shit off.

Can companies just stop shoving AI shit down our throats? We don't want it.

A bunch of gaming stuff, including a DS Lite, a Wii Wheel, strategy guides for Skyrim and Pokémon Platinum, and cheat books for Playstation 1 games.

So yesterday my mum dropped by with a bunch of my old stuff that she'd found whilst doing a big clear out.

This isn't even close to all of it, but they are some of my favourites.

Nah, it's a good bit above Romulent. Probably in the top 3 of the series, which isn't saying much given how low the bar gets after those first two.

Also, unlike Prometheus and Covenant, Alien Romulus actually LOOKS like an Alien movie. With a full 70's idea of what the future would look like.

CRT's, big heavy machinery, the works! None of those holograms that they had in Prometheus, despite it being hundreds of years before Alien 1.

Alien Romulus is actually a good movie. I liked how it played with a lot of the already established elements, there were some really creative uses of the acid blood here.

There's a single element that I hear is quite divisive here, though I did kind of like it? I get why people are mixed though.

Alien the Covenant was an Alien the Covenant movie that I did saw.

At this point it really feels like nobody knew what to do with this series, so they gave Ridley Scott cocaine and a bible, and told him to go nuts.

Prometheus is fucking silly. It's probably not a worse movie than Resurrection, but it's so much more frustrating to watch because of all the little inconsistencies that are shoved into your face.

One genuinely good thing I'll say about it; they had a character who used a wheelchair to get around for the whole movie, and it never treats him like a liability.

One of the characters does at times, but it makes it clear that he's an asshole, so it doesn't feel like you want to agree with him.

Alien Forever After (Resurrection) was... A movie? Ripley felt weirdly sexual for the whole movie, which made a lot of sense when I saw Joss Whedon was a writer on it. The plot has so many major and minor loopholes, it's absurd.

I can't say it was a good movie, but it very rarely bored me, I guess?

Alien The Third was weird, in that you can see the good movie that's buried here somewhere. It's shot really well, and the sets are again brilliant.

But mostly nothing characters, a plot that throws away the prior two movies, and a confused tone make it feel really underwhelming. Also awful CGI.

Update: The sequel's also pretty damn good, although it has a bit of a slower start. And some of the sets weren't quite as good, though I guess there were a lot more, with way more variety.

Also less Jones, which is its biggest flaw.

Just finished my fully playable Mario Party costume in time for Halloween! Roll the dice block, move your character, play minigames, and earn coin (candy). Only the very best will win the star for the night 🌟

I love them, but Pokémon really has done a lot to de-value shinies. Every single one here was caught today. The Electrike, Scolipede, and Venipede were all caught within a minute of each other.

Within an hour of getting the shiny charm in Z-A, I found 4 shinies. 3 of them were at the same time. Hunts in this game are kinda silly.

Getting a start on this year's horror series binge

Man I love the Halo series. I can't wait to not play the remake due to Microsoft's comically evil business practises, and insistence on shoving genAI into everything.

Krafton should unveil their AI-Driven fucking off technology, and use it to fuck off.

People who worked on this game cared. I just hope that, one day, they're given the time and resources needed to make something that doesn't feel held back.

But it's Pokémon so I doubt it.

Character designs, new megas and the soundtrack are all fantastic. The story does such a good job at respecting X & Y, and acts as a great sequel to some of those game's loose ends. It's not incredible, but it's great fan service.

Despite its competent art direction. My guess is the buildings are all just square blocks to make it easier to optimise, but better looking games run better on Switch 1. It's either a skill or resource issue, but it's an issue nonetheless, and one that's tough to ignore.
