You are the first person to mention this to me. I have visited 21 cities in 19 months (all art related)Can’t count the amount of museums and art galleries but roughly 2 per city so let’s say 40 museums. The busiest was in Dresden last week πŸ˜‰

John and I were friends on X. I just discovered tonight he passed away. I enjoyed his tweets and although I did not know him personally, he was a man who lived a great life and gave so much through education, again so sorry to you and all his family

One of my favourite Van Dyck’s. I found myself lost in this work and wasn’t quite sure why but by filling the horizontal canvas it brings the scene closer to us as if we are part of the unfolding tragedy. I love this composition. Photos I took at The KMSKA Antwerp circa 1640.

The neck of him. A most vile character whose entire life has been built on selfishness and ego.

One of the most important painters in the development of British Art. Overlooked by many
