Unbeknownst to most or long forgotten is that on October 8 and October 10, 2023; Hamas offered the same deal that’s being pitched as Trump’s β€œGaza Peace Deal” which would have handed all hostages over to Israel in exchange for Israeli troops not entering the strip, Netanyahu refused the proposal.

HORROR FOR WEENIES is such a labor of love, and Emily's prose in describing the films she selects is just beautiful. Very rare that a tastemaker has the chops to dissect and reassemble a genre like this, but she's got it.

It includes the 4th book in my Lost Humanity series, Predators! If you never got to continue past Bridges, this is your chance!

Ghosts & haints exist wherever they're imprinted. It could be a graveyard or a lake or an abandoned house. Although my favorite haunting are the foresty ones & the unexpected ones, I do have a soft spot for orphanages. Perhaps because my grandmother was raised in one...

Q3: #HorrorWritersChat
As a disbeliever in any thinness between veils, I like seeing authors find ways to bring ghosts into our world. Is it gas? Is it madness? Is it time travel? Is it an inter-dimensional insect infestation?

I write fiction as Mark Guyer and nonfiction as Dustin Pinney. I will soon be living in Corning, NY. I like horror with depth and lots of jokes. I arrive here in a tattered Goonies shirt and black jeans that I keep forgetting about.

#HorrorWritersChat Q1:

Hello all, I'm Jacob Marsh and I write horror and supernatural thrillers.

My wraith would take the form of a creeping fog. Spilling under the door and seeping through the cracks. Walls may slow me, but nothing will stop my terrible advance.

It depends on the ghost.

Just a spooky thing that makes you nervous: house, preferably a spare room.

A lonely spirit with depression: abandoned places that should bring joy β€” theater, cinema, an empty town.

Scary ghosts: Marching down Main Street, big as a house and hungry.

Trees drink souls that linger on crossroads. Their branches block the path to Heaven, their roots entangle the road to Hell. And so spirits linger, and so they are consumed.

Hello #HorrorWritersChat! I’m Ell! I write ace horrorβ€”supernatural, but lately also Gothic, sci-fi, & body horror bc of my thesis β€œAromantic Frankenstein”). I’m from San Diego.

Tonight I mask half my face. When it’s time, with a swish of my cape I’ll retreat to my gondola & WAY too many candles. πŸ•―οΈ

Good evening!
I write fantasy novels and horror short stories (as of now at least).
My horror is a mixed back of genres. I like to play with nature, folklore, and just a hint of dark humor (I'm Danish after all).

I'm on the couch in my PJ's, hoping to stay awake until 9pm..

08.10.2025 18:15 β€” πŸ‘ 24    πŸ” 12    πŸ’¬ 3    πŸ“Œ 0

Ghosts are like cats and haunt wherever they please. I prefer to find them in ancient ruins, gloomy streets and hidden alleys. Or anywhere good chocolate is sold. #horrorwriterschat

Q2:

I use a lot of villages, so I often wonder if my strain would be considered folk horror. There’s a lot of cosmic comeuppance and justice debuted themes thinking back on it.

I prefer the spirits of the folkloric variety because you can learn so much history from them.

Fun fact: a ghost in Iceland is typically a draugr or afturganga, meaning walking again. They're more of the zombie variety but still have their minds intact and often seek revenge.

My own home, which isn't exactly lavish, but was pretty crumbly around the edges a few years ago... and where, at the risk of being lurid, someone may have met their end in a large fish tank some years ago.

As much as I love unique ghost designs by authors, I love ghost folktales even more. They have so much history in them, especially between generations. So much can be told about a community by simply how they're treating the (dis)honoured dead.

"The moment you entered the graveyard," the skeleton said, "The scrape of ancient stone shadowed your ears."

"What'd you put in my ears?!" Martin slapped at his head. "Don't be putting shit in my ears!"

"No. It was poetic! I was saying--"

"Not cool messing with a guy's ears."

Hello #HorrorWritersChat! It's been a hot sec.

It is I, Mitch Miller, writer of folk, sci-fi, and weird horrors of the queer kind; coming at you from the lovely (and chilly) Rocky Mountains.

As for my ghostly visage? None. My presence is only known by the absence of ice cream in your freezer.
