This talk will will introduce you to how we build faces from skulls for archaeological and forensic purposes, including 3D facial depictions of Pharoah Rameses II and King Robert the Bruce of Scotland, and more recently a talking postmortem avatar of King Richard III.

The group analyses, authenticates, and depicts the faces of significant historical figures using skeletal remains, death masks, and portraits.

Face Lab is a team led by Professor Caroline Wilkinson that works at the intersection of art and science undertaking research into facial identity for individuals and populations using craniofacial analysis, facial depiction, and forensic art.

When it comes to securing our future, yes is the simple answer, nature conservation is a priority. Bats are a great example of a group of diverse and often misunderstood species, who are essential players in both human dominated and natural environments.

In the month when we'll be celebrating International Bat Night, we'll also be asking can people really be expected to prioritise nature conservation when there are so many demands on our pockets and time?
