The 2026 NYC Council Progressive Caucus has more members than last year, more alignment with the new mayor, and now new leadership to maintain the greater internal coherence the caucus has attained within the past several years. It's going be a good, productive year for the Left in the NYC Council.

Today, New York City is finally reforming its street vending system in a way that works for everyone by overriding former Mayor Adams’ last-minute veto on Int. 431-B.

Instacart is a $10B dollar company. Their CEO is punishing Instacart consumers because my bill, Local Law 124, made them pay their workers a minimum wage of $21/hr.

This is corporate greed, plain and simple.

In 2025, we passed bills to finally put a nail in the coffin of Guiliani’s privatized debt collection system: Intros 570, 1407, 1419 & 1420.

Today we finished the job. We’re moving away from an opaque predatory model to a democratic and transparent one that protects homeowners.

We mourn with the people of Minneapolis and are clear eyed in our shared conviction that ICE must be abolished.”

“Today, the federal government murdered an ICU nurse in Minnesota who was a legal observer of ICE’s unlawful kidnapping campaign.

We are devastated and enraged that death and violence are now the norm of the federal government’s immigration policy.
