These is a heavy dose too of telling the poor how to behave - buy carrots not a beer you sinner buying on interest type of stuff.
Which is all well and good from a middle class point of view, but..they need access to credit.

Did she take up a career as an IT Engineer by any chance?
25.02.2026 09:58 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0About twenty years ago, I used to write a monthly report in word and then hand it over to a secretary who would transform it into a PDF. This process would take her around 90 minutes. Or so she said.
One day she was off ill and I had to do it. This was when I discovered the βprint as pdfβ feature.
If this is the bump you get from sex tape revelations there are going to be some awkward strategy meetings in Downing St
25.02.2026 09:26 β π 128 π 30 π¬ 10 π 1It's an underrated story here: the Tories barely exist, Reform is the replacement.
25.02.2026 09:18 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0There is no known explanation other than he is a true believer. He has repeatedly sacrificed to maintain his position. Even 'US pressure' does not work.
24.02.2026 22:33 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yeah, that's really awful. Notable and astonishing that, both on left and on the radical right, they've gone all-in on "natural" crap instead of science; with a heavy dose of controlling women and denying them medical care.
Disturbing the "change" parties are fundamentally anti-modernity.
UK did a trial and then...seemingly forgot about it? It would be great to install these. France is a bit more serious about it I think.
Great article below.
ONTARIO PREMIER FORD: βHow can ONE person β one man β create so much turmoil around the world? .. Itβs pretty staggering.

Yeah, seeing that, probably better not to teach and just forget Western Civ.
23.02.2026 21:22 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0For anyone who has lived through syllabus wars over whether Western Civ should exist in a history department:
23.02.2026 21:15 β π 13 π 4 π¬ 2 π 0Equally, the profs seemed to forget that the expansion of education was a cross party political choice, which could be reversed; that they had a duty to the state that employed them. And to involve themselves in the admin of the uni.
23.02.2026 19:19 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I hope 'living room discourse' ends here.
Can you imagine if every MP candidate felt obliged to publish a photo of their living room for public comment?
Or even just of building more in London of what's needed, and fixing the system (and this is Labour's system and transition to a new system - they own it) so businessmen's incentives aren't to optimise their portfolios this way. Note this guy believes nothing will change soon, and Lab have 3+y to go
23.02.2026 15:20 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Just as unlikely, but more hopeful, and still amusing, is (1) followed by (3), and not doing (2).
23.02.2026 12:50 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0"The other guys suck" line has been tried so many times...and the voter response is always "maybe, maybe not, but with you lot we know for sure, so..."
With Greens, it's "Their drugs policy is crazy" seemingly oblivious to "What is your policy anyway, and whatever it is, it isn't working is it?"
"Trust" will be terribly difficult to achieve, given the history of govt & councils treating every service as a cost minimisation exercise. It may help if they did something about other, dare I say, general school "middle class" demands - like that every school should have a library...with funding
23.02.2026 11:57 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yes, the proposals seem fine; (on the surface) the key issue will be trust. We do need a controlled budget to fairly deliver what resources are available, which are not unlimited, and SEND shouldn't trump all other education demands. With BP heading it up the trust may be possible; KS, not so much.
23.02.2026 11:57 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0O, the "must" comes from the Home Office inventing a requirement. It's nuts, 100%, but not related to Brexit nuttery. It affects even a current UK resident dual citizen, who now can't leave and re-enter without the British passport; even though the entry computer will identify the person as Brit.
23.02.2026 11:43 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0What? No, the 'must use your Brit passport' is unrelated to Brexit. It affects people everywhere. Even UK residents.
23.02.2026 09:54 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Unfortunately, the newspapers have been publishing it's feckless, lazy, entitled students for that long too...what's new is the establishment seemingly believing it and deciding the Unis and educating people is a problem.

22.02.2026 17:50 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Very interesting - the Labour decline is no-one will vote "useless" whereas some will go for "racist and hope" and more for "good", both of which represent change. Status quo is a loser.
Labour's permanent decline in Wales and Scotland seems baked-in. How can they possibly win a majority again?
I do hope the Labour people on this platform will denounce this Mike Tapp, who is rivaling Reform with authoritarian nonsense.
