Going to the grocery store listening to the overhead music, and thinking, "Hey, they play a lot of good songs, and I thought they usually just play music for old people... Ahhh, damn it!"

19.04.2025 19:45 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0No, I'm sorry, Shapez 2 was pretty fun but I have to go redesign my bioflux sub factory on Gleba for a twelfth time.

14.02.2025 01:44 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I kind of love how the coffee machine at work displays a bit of information that is probably technically correct but also completely useless for any purpose I can imagine.
13.02.2025 15:49 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I believe Vince Gilligan and his writers threw in the name Lalo as a potential hook for a villain but didn't flesh out any details or backstory until working on BCS. He has his own character page on Wikipedia, and this is briefly mentioned. They also name-dropped Nacho in the same BB episode.

13.01.2025 23:25 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0That's a neat coincidence. I just finished my Asylum replay today and started on City, so I'll be playing along with you soon.
RIP Kevin Conroy, the best of all Batmen. :(
Kermit the Frog reporting for Sesame Street News, looking exasperated
Unlike you, I get my news from a reliable source.
10.01.2025 14:20 β π 10 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I once got in a small edit war over the page of a professor who had been investigated and fired for inappropriate behavior with a student. The person who kept editing the page turned out to be his wife using a second account.
05.01.2025 21:27 β π 13 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Just curious, have you played or reviewed Indiana Jones and the Great Circle? I'm sure loving it.
04.01.2025 22:14 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I intend to forget that it exists again as soon as I stop looking at this post.
04.01.2025 13:42 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Why does Christopher Nolan even want to make an Odyssey movie when the Coen Brothers already did the definitive adaptation in O Brother Where Art Thou?
24.12.2024 18:47 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Since the election I've had a hard time appreciating political takes as I used to, but I are up your new post. It may be long, but I appreciate how much it weaves together and clarifies so many different trends from the last year (or decade, or lifetime, since we're about the same age).
23.12.2024 18:00 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 011/ Oh yeah, one more thing, maybe it goes without saying: Fuck Trump.
26.11.2024 15:19 β π 8 π 0 π¬ 0 π 010/ Anyway, human interaction is still important, and much of it is online these days. So I'd like to be more visible and available in posting, and I'll make an effort to say things occasionally. But I'm just saying, it IS an effort.
26.11.2024 15:15 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 09/ It's been documented how social media interaction is more nasty and aggressive than real-life interaction, and also more than it used to be. That's by design, since algorithms promote "engagement" over friendly discussion. Not exactly as intended, but emergent behavior and all that.
26.11.2024 15:15 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 08/ There is also another kind of friction to posting, which is that crowd reactions have gotten a lot more unpleasant. Now when I see a post I like on Twitter, I don't want to look at the comments. Pre-musk, usually there would be thoughtful discussion. Now it's a flood of blue checks trash talking.
26.11.2024 15:15 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 07/ Anyway, I'm not saying these restrictions are a burden, I get why they exist. I'm just saying they provide a little bit of friction when I'm thinking about posting something, and maybe my desire to engage with strangers is not high enough to overcome the friction, so then I just don't post much.
26.11.2024 15:15 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 06/ Similarly if I say something that sounds like it might be "official Blizzard news," I should mention that I don't represent the company. I'm an engineer for a game company. I'm not on their media team, I'm not authorized to announce anything, etc.
26.11.2024 15:15 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 05/ For example, if I talk about video games, I have to mention somewhere who I work for. It's a good rule because there shouldn't be accounts that trash other games, but are sneakily negative PR to help the company.
26.11.2024 15:15 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 04/ Anyway, a couple of reasons why I lost enthusiasm for posting. One is, being happily employed at a big company like Blizzard adds minor hurdles. They don't tell me NOT to post things, but I have been through a few rounds of training where there's many guidelines to be cautious.
26.11.2024 15:15 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 03/ I was telling a coworker recently, back when I hosted The Atheist Experience and a few other shows, I was VERY active on various platforms. Mainly blogging and Facebook. I did Twitter also, but it never fully clicked for me because when I write, I go long.
26.11.2024 15:15 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 02/ If you used to follow me and want to read something recent where I dumped a bunch of thoughts about a specific topic, I invite you to read my recent post on how a flood of "AI" is wrecking the internet. onlys.ky/how-ai-wreck... (Please disregard the ugly AI-generated picture, I did not pick it.)
26.11.2024 15:15 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I see that I am getting a lot of new followers, as I hear there is a sudden mass migration from Twitter. This makes me feel a little guilty that I don't have any content to provide because I... just don't do many social media posts these days. (Start of thread)
26.11.2024 15:15 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0This code is kind of bonkers. It defines a function that ignores one of the two inputs, and spits back the other input, giving you a time wasting way to refer to information that you already know. The double parentheses after "fe.Constant" also look weird but it may be a Python thing I don't know.
18.12.2023 14:37 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0I mean, if you're an old person who understands how computer files actually work, then yeah. Maybe he's saying kids don't know and don't care.
