November 3rd, 2024. The world had knowingly and gleefully taken the darkest possible turn. Fascism had won, it was going to keep winning all over the planet, and nobody was going to stop it. A little over a week later, my mother returned home from a lengthy doctor's visit, inconsolable. Cancer. It was in her bones. It was same kind her brother had, and even now I'm left asking if it's hereditary. My world was falling apart, and I was losing the best support I had. I was no longer in control of my life, if I ever was to begin with. I no longer wanted anything to do with humanity. I was becoming something nobody could be proud of. It's no secret that artists tend to be a little freaky away from the public's eye, and I am no different. Pretty much all the stuff that ends up in normal peoples' “Furry Cringe Compilation”, if you've seen just about any cartoon from the 90's and thought that a scene was made by an unusual kind of pervert, that's more than likely my thing. But, as the world was crumbling, I became more focused on this, like it was the only thing I could do to escape. Soon “my thing” was just becoming “me”. It was taking up all of my free time, and effecting my relationships. Eventually just about everyone I was in contact with was just some outlet for all this, I don't think I even saw them as people, just a name and an avatar to use and get used by. I even indulged in things that were never my thing, if only just to maintain a connection to someone. This was my life. And then in the tail-end of April, my mother had a cardiac arrest. She was taken to the ICU. She was in a coma. I blamed myself. If I actually made the things I wanted to make my whole life, I could afford to get her better care, to give her and my sister a better life.
