He only has a split second to notice mechanical sound of something expanding before he has to dodge a huge scythe. He rolls away with a yelp, eyes wide at the sheer size of the thing. A strand of his hair falls onto the floor, decorating the smooth dark concrete with a splash of blue. Then, it’s like time freezes as they stare at one another through laboured breaths. In the night, illuminated by the street lamps, with the neon blade of his scythe and the trickle of smoke escaping from the vents of his mask, The Mare looks like a modern day grim reaper. Despite knowing what lies beyond the mask, a chill runs up Jungkook’s spine at the sight.
