And I get it, those themes are prevalent. But these redesigns could describe probably 50% of cities in America. Nothing about them screams "Vancouver". The whole point of a flag is to be recognizable and solidify your identity. Put something interesting on it!

These are sooo boring. The problem is that this type of flag has been done about a billion times now. Every flag redesign these days is this ultra flat, three layer style where the layers are some combo of water/sky/farm/industry. It's boring. Modernization shouldn't mean making boring flags!
