I will be attending #XP25 tomorrow! I'm not the best at networking, but after being unemployed for 9 months, I have to get back into the scene. Excited for some of the talks and to see what indie devs are working on!

We recently had to say goodbye to our corgi Winston after he was diagnosed with cancer. I've been a mess ever since and have been trying to process the whole situation. Took some time to make him into a commander card as a way to memorialize him and have something I can hold onto.

I miss him so much. Thank you for making such an amazing piece in memory of our little guy. 😭

I lost my job 2 weeks ago, joining a dozen of my friends that have been layed off due to lack of work in animation and video games after more than a decade of steady work; it’s grim out there. Despite all that, I’ve never been busier, catching up with chores, personal projects and life in general.

Jolrael - Commander (Jolrael, Voice of Zhalfir) A deck created using the deck building website, Moxfield.

My most recent deck is Jolrael. I’ve been wondering which Simic deck to do for a while and using lands as attackers while being able to replay them from the graveyard looked like a fun idea. I only played it once so it’s far from optimized yet, but it has great potential! #MtG

Raggadragga - Commander (Raggadragga, Goreguts Boss) A deck created using the deck building website, Moxfield.

Raggadragga is a Gruul commander, which means it’s easy to overrun your opponents with creatures. The free attack every turn is amazing, but the flexibility to have most of your mana open to cast a surprising 7-mana spell while boosting anything that goes through is the cherry on top! #MtG

Rowan - Commander (Rowan, Scion of War) A deck created using the deck building website, Moxfield.

Rowan is a good deck to take out when the group wants to have a fast game. Life points is a ressource in Magic and Rowan is using that to it’s maximum potential; it’s a very high risk, high reward strategy. Just use half your life to do double that damage to your opponents and win! #MtG

Shelob - Commander (Shelob, Child of Ungoliant) A deck created using the deck building website, Moxfield.

My idea of this deck is that Shelob and her spider army are wrapping up other players’ creatures into food tokens while hobbits are feasting on that food to get bigger; it’s quite funny. It’s not the most efficient food deck or the most optimal way to play Shelob, but I’m having a great time! #MtG

Shorikai - Commander (Shorikai, Genesis Engine) A deck created using the deck building website, Moxfield.

Drawing cards on your commander is one of the most busted ability you can have, and Shorikai is no exception. It’s probably stronger to build this commander without going Vehicles typal but it’s so much fun when you bust out the Mechtitan! Who doesn’t love assembling the Power Rangers? #MtG

Galazeth - Commander (Galazeth Prismari) A deck created using the deck building website, Moxfield.

What’s better than a treasure? A treasure that can tap for mana, of course! Galazeth allows you to tap any artifact to cast instants and sorceries, which makes this spellslinger deck very explosive. The extra value generated should be more than enough to close out the game! #MtG

Orah - Commander (Orah, Skyclave Hierophant) A deck created using the deck building website, Moxfield.

Orah’s ability is a little clunky since it revives lower CMC creatures, but the upside is that you can stack triggers on a board wipe to lose practically nothing! Clerics will be harder to get rid of due to all the protection, revival and life gain that there is in the deck. #MtG

Umbris - Commander (Umbris, Fear Manifest) A deck created using the deck building website, Moxfield.

Umbris takes the milling strategy to another level, exiling people’s libraries instead. It’s not rare that this deck can exile over 50 cards in one turn, incidentally making Umbris into a huge creature. Commander damage then becomes a secondary win condition if opponents don’t hold blockers. #MtG

Kyler - Commander (Kyler, Sigardian Emissary) A deck created using the deck building website, Moxfield.

It’s hilarious to me that my most viewed and popular deck on Moxfield is Kyler, the most basic human deck with a +1/+1 counters strategy. There’s so much support for this archetype which makes it very explosive; you can swarm the board and everything will be huge because of Kyler just existing! #MtG

Kozilek - Commander (Kozilek, the Great Distortion) A deck created using the deck building website, Moxfield.

Kozilek was another deck inspired by the Command Zone when Ashlen played it on Game Knights. Colorless mana can ramp extremely fast and allows you to just straight up pay the cost of those beefy Eldrazi. Once they are out, there’s little your opponents can do to stop you! #MtG

Oh yes!! I had to add Myriim to my deck when she released! The worst is, last time I had a full board of double striking dragons and my opponent copied my Karrthus, which stole all my dragons. It’s scary when you’re on the receiving end 😂

Tiamat - Commander (Tiamat) A deck created using the deck building website, Moxfield.

There are so many sweet dragons in Magic the Gathering that a 5-color one is the natural choice for a commander. The deck is heavily red and green because of the dragons in it but, with Tiamat’s ability, adding some black graveyard recursion to cheat them into play seems like a no-brainer! #MtG

Hinata - Commander (Hinata, Dawn-Crowned) A deck created using the deck building website, Moxfield.

Hinata is a gorgeous card, but also very scary as a commander! Getting cost reduction of every target means that powerful spells can be cast for -almost- free which is a huge advantage. However, it relies a lot on Hinata being out, so she’s a prime target for removal. #MagicTheGathering
