Likely true and if like similar situations in both summer of 23 and 24 it will è the “sand in the eyes” part of an air campaign. I think stage one was the Saki attack and “damage “ to as many as 5 su-35/24s

Back to where it all began. When I was prevailed upon to record a podcast that we hoped would get a hundred listens and exceeded all expectations. Grab a brew and learn about how to kill a cruiser.

03.06.2025 15:18 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Not a 1000lb charge. Interesting the booms behind didn’t work. Probably purely to counter USV and not anchored to the bottom to stop divers. Placement of charge is odd as well. That’s a phenomenally thick concrete base.
03.06.2025 12:43 — 👍 10 🔁 2 💬 3 📌 0Hmmmm it is curious, I am under the impression that the subsurface structure is configured differently than the visible structure to allow for tides and currents. Would the enhancement of a deep water charge efficacy be a factor?

Very proud of this episode.

we discussed this kit at length and I remain convinced at the very least, Link 11 has been operated by Ukraine and imho 16 as well.
I tend to think the DDG would be the only effective and persistent means for 24hr AD with eagles running unpredictable patterns to augment
28.05.2025 00:33 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Several raids on the Royal Navy amphibious landing force at San Carlos were conducted starting 21 May 1982 and we will take a deep dive into those that targeted HMS Argonaut including one flown by a young Argentine Naval Aviator in an Italian built jet trainer! Epic stuff.

The battle of San Carlos is full of engagements and incidents that can be broken down, as part of the @shipwrektpod.bsky.social team @hopc.bsky.social , @dmbrookfield.bsky.social and I will be doing a two part podcast on HMS Argonaut
A sad day for the Royal Navy.
No conjecture. No urban myths. No rumours. Just analysis from people who have been to sea on Type 42 destroyers.

Folks episode two is up of our Air Raid Warning Red series. Now, this is a bit nerdy but if you really want to understand what a close run thing the battle was, we felt it’s important to understand the kit a d tactics being used.

Texaco callsigns over Black Sea?
Ok. Thats fun. Says additional CAP to me. The Typhoons are on FT as a signal.
It’s what we cannot see that’s the fun bit.
At first glance I have a couple of ideas
1. Low level rigging to get visual intel at a perspective and angle unavailable at distance due to obstruction
2. Simulated attack profiles on a buoy holding subsurface contact or a practice surface shoot , all for currency.
Perhaps a bit of showing the

@hopc.bsky.social and all you submarine hunters. My paper plot for hunting an Argentine boat. Two lines of sonobuoys, a good cross fix on her radar, with furthest on circles from datum.

look in the middle of the spaghetti you can see a solid line running roughly south west to northeast. Then multiple cuts across it . The solid line could likely be a line of buoys geometrically configured to track and sub high angle cuts are potentially practice attack runs, water depth dependent
