More music is released than ever: Is that a bad thing? More music is released daily than in the entire year of 1989, according to a report from music-industry publication MusicRadar.

The amount of new music released daily is also staggering.

Someone did a small write-up about Supriya and accidentally attributed the creation of it to our founder. Supriya was created by Joséphine Wolf Oberholtzer, and she is still maintaining it. So all credit goes to her!

I love pretty much everything they've ever done. Garlands is a great album, too. It's one of their early ones, and is very dark and dissonant. Quite different from the ethereal stuff they later got into.

Looks like the perfect place to dole out emotional weather forecasts.

I rarely use it because I've been working with a little-known and highly specialized Python API. I'm the only person regularly posting code using it. I guess that means my code will be used to train the AIs in the future...

Code generating AI still has a long way to go. Some major weaknesses are the need for large amounts of training data and delay in knowing about updates to libraries/modules.

Nice. I've been studying FM synthesis myself with Supriya/SuperCollider. I made a demo script doing actual frequency modulation, and am now making one with phase modulation.

You do. So many amazing ideas! It's full of mind-blowing super far future, crazy advanced technologies. And many of them have really dark secrets that lie at the core of they work.

The Time Tombs were one of the things I really liked. The idea of something being slightly displaced in time because they were in the process of traveling to a specific, unknown, but rapidly approaching time is so cool.

Something I haven't seen mentioned is how similar the situation is to when sampling became popular in music. It took the music industry/law a while to catch up, but eventually the musicians whose music was sampled finally got royalties. I feel like this is the way forward with generative AI.

Yes. I'm using SuperCollider as the synthesis engine. So the audio signal is digital, but the number of voices will only be limited by the hardware. I haven't done any tests to see what what the upper limit is, but it should be much greater than most hardware synths.

But, but, but the PPG 1002 is analog, and only 10,000€! It's a reissue!

It's still a long way from being production ready, but I'm working on a hardware modular groovebox whose main feature is the ability to hot-swap all modules.
