Bara Brith I have a particular fondness for Bara Brith, the traditional Welsh fruit-speckled tea bread. My late sister Thomasina lived and worked in Wales, and my first taste of it came courtesy of her next door...

#RecipeOfTheDay is Bara Brith, that wonderful Welsh fruit-speckled tea bread, which I recommend eating so thickly spread with butter you can see your teeth marks in it when you take a bite (what the Danes refer to as tandsmΓΈr)! www.nigella.com/recipes/bara...

Just curious but what's currently the "best" meshtastic raspberry pi hat (or usb dongle) to turn a raspberry pi into a meshtastic base station?

Also is there a better/more comprehensive map of meshtastic nodes/basestations as meshmap.net seems to show that brooklyn is a bit of a meshtastic desert

Classic Corner: Three Days of the Condor Sydney Pollack's Watergate-era spy picture is a series of fascinating contradictions and none-too-subtle historical references.

'Three Days of the Condor' hit theaters on this day in 1975. It was one of the all-time great conspiracy thrillers (and RIP Robert Redford obvi):

Apparently i'm a pillock.

Just took Gizmo to the vets as he's got a very runny nose and lots of sneezing and my suggestion that maybe Gizmo was allergic to mice was met with 2 vets, 3 nurses, 2 receptionists and my son stopped laughing I was told i'm a pillock

Interesting fact about Prestel.

The person who shut it down (Clive Fedida) was the son of the person who created it. (Sam Fedida)

There was definitely at least one that AT&T were involved with as that's where I met my now wife 1st and she was in a room in the AT&T Manhattan HQ when we chatted :)

I believe the main company that ran it was based in Montreal but AT&T either owned part of it or supplied a lot of the network hw

I met my now wife on a US based* Minitel system.

*AT&T were involved somehow and some of the employees from the Manhattan HQ were part-time "moderators" on the chat part

2a/2 which also explains why the actual BASIC interpreter part of the roms was very TRS80 Level2 BASICish

i'm sure they were partaking of some interesting substances because of the floating point line numbers :) and the very crippled VDU statement

He then wrote the roms in 6 weeks on a TRS80 model3 before the hardware was anything other than the schematics 2/2

best "writing roms" story i ever heard was Davis Jansons and his then girlfriend Sue sitting on the floor of their (i believe on a narrow boat) living room floor surrounded by piles of manuals from the beeb, speccy, commie64, oric,... deciding what to put into the Camputers Lynx BASIC roms 1/2

depending on what i/we were porting we used trs80 model3's, sanyo mbc3000dd's, olivetti's or at&t 3b1's however what i/we were porting was business and accounting s/w rather than games and writing roms for devices before the hardware was ready.
