Ohio coal plants, including one formerly propped up by HB6, to get new federal lifeline under Trump Two Ohio coal power plants have been picked by President Donald Trump to get a share of $175 million worth of federal funding to pay for upgrades to rural coal plants keep them in operation.

When fake conservatives say this is all about letting the market decide I get so mad. He’s literally subsidizing failing coal plants.

We can #StopSuperSpeeders BEFORE they kill people. Similar to how drunk drivers are sometimes required to use ignition interlock devices.

I love how Waymo used its huge megaphone to blame the child (darting into traffic!) but we didn’t hear the family’s side.

One reason I think these huge companies should be held to a higher standard than normal drivers is they are incredibly powerful and wealthy.

City Boosters Can't Ignore the Quality of City Services This is a big missing piece to rebuilding the urban middle class.

I love @schmangee.bsky.social 's honesty & perspective here. the way she describes how people wanting to trust the system get let down and eventually give up.

Los Angeles is becoming a cautionary tale about what happens when cities just completely abdicate their responsibility for keeping people safe on the roads imo. Site where a pregnant mother was killed on a family bike ride

Did your family eat at restaurants when you were young? It was pretty rare for us.

I was just reading my daughter Ramona Quimby Age 8. The climax is her eating at a restaurant with her family, a special occasion

Thinking about this re: the book I’m working on re: children & public space

For this book I'm working on, trying to find the craziest car line story. I vaguely remember one about people waiting two three hours to pick up their kids.

Does anyone remember where?

Where I'm located e-bikes *insanely* outperform buses, and often beat driving (due to congestion, parking). E-bike easily beats bus by 2x on any given point-to-point trip. The reasons to forego e-bike are: lack of safe infrastructure, rider ability, bike maintenance, theft risk, more than 1 person.
